SandMat

SandMat is a heavy-duty geotextile fabric mat designed to create a stable, long-lasting base for sandy beaches on shore. Made of non-woven polypropylene geotextile fabric, SandMat separates sand from the soil beneath it, inhibits erosion, suppresses weed growth, and allows water to drain through at 90 gallons per square foot per minute. SandMat is designed for onshore use and can extend a short way into very shallow water.

SandMats are available in lengths from 20' to 100' long by 12.5' wide. For wider beaches, two SandMats can be overlapped by at least one foot. For best results, LakeMat recommends using washed sand, five to six inches deep.
